EEA and Norway Grants >>>
The 12 newest EU member states, Spain, Portugal and Greece are eligible for support under the EEA Grants. The Norway Grants are only open to the 12 newest EU member states. The funding is allocated between the countries based on their population and GDP per capita.

Bilateral partnerships at both project and programme levels >>>
Strengthening bilateral relations between Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and the 15 beneficiary states is an overarching objective of the EEA and Norway Grants. To encourage strategic and long-term cooperation, partnerships at the programme level are introduced alongside continued possibilities for project cooperation.

Programme areas
There are 32 areas. No 4 (EEA Grants) is “Reduction of hazardous substances” >>>

Increased awareness of and education in hazardous substances is one of the expected outcome.
In order to minimise chemical risk, a major effort is needed to strengthen the national capacity for chemicals management, at a government level, in industry and for NGOs. A systematic approach to identifying hazards and risks, assessments of less hazardous alternatives, and disseminating and communicating this information through the product chain will require focused efforts to achieve better management of chemicals. Cooperation at government level and sharing experiences in the regulatory field are necessary to secure efficient regulation.

Suggested activities
• Measures to strengthen national capacity for control and enforcement of chemical regulations
• Industry initiatives, inter alia, the sharing of best practice
• Measures to increase awareness of and education in hazardous Substances

The proposed project e-learn CheMiE (Chemical Management in Enterprises) meets all the criteria. All 15 countries could apply.

The next deadline is 2 February 2012

Leonardo Multilateral Projects >>>
(also known as Development of Innovation projects) are large-scale European projects which aim to develop innovative materials for vocational education and training. You will need at least 3 partners in 3 different participating countries (including your own organisation) to be eligible, and you can ask for up to 200,000 euro per year to support up to 2 years of activity.

Transfer of Innovation >>>

Transfer of Innovation (TOI) funding is designed to help you adapt existing innovative practice for use in new settings, through working with transnational partners.

TOI projects aim to:

  • adapt innovative content (including from previous projects);
  • produce tangible products;
  • transfer the results to new contexts (e.g. target groups, sectors, countries); and
  • integrate the lessons learned into vocational education and training systems at regional, national or European level or into sectoral training systems and practices or into companies.

Dissemination and exploitation of results is a key feature of TOI projects. It is also important that you involve your target groups and ultimate beneficiaries in developing and delivering your project.

A good application form should also clearly demonstrate the impact on target groups, VET systems and practices. It should also clearly explain how the sustainability of the project activities and results will be ensured.
